Product Overview

McLaren 570S is a mid-size sports car in production from 2015. It is available with several tunes of a bi-turbocharged V8 engine that displaced 3.8 liters. A 7-speed DCT and RWD are standard.
Confusingly, while the base model develops 570PS and is named 570S, other tunes of this engine are named after their respective output levels and do not share the same "model name".
Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the McLaren 570S comes with double-wishbone suspensions at all four corners.

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Lightweight seats from the Senna hypercar that will distort your spine and numb your legs over very long journeys. Weight has been cut elsewhere through the use of thinner glass, carbonfibre for more of the body panels, top exit exhausts that have less pipework and lightened suspension components. The 600LT is explosively fast, it steers beautifully and it is shot through with agility and handling precision.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Superb ride quality
Cons
  • Brake pedal can be frustrating
  • Not as fast as 570S

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
There's a shark-like front end with a low, sculpted front spoiler design that curves up at the edges to meet the trademark headlights. At the rear the flying buttresses of the 570S are removed to make way for the glass shelled luggage compartment behind the seats. The doors swing up to reveal the low-slung seats, but they're accessed more easily than in the S model thanks to a lower and narrower sill. The seats are heated and electrically adjustable and once you're in them, there's a good view out by supercar standards.

Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Slow to respond to basic navigation

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The 600LT builds on the smaller 570S and sits at the top of McLaren's Sports Series range. The name hints at the extra power that has been added as part of the overhaul process. It's 30bhp up on the 570S, with the 3.8-litre V8 that sits behind the seats now producing a total of 592bhp. There are a few styling tweaks to give the car a more aggressive look as well, although the 600LT remains fairly subtle.

Pros
  • Extremely fast
  • Impressive performance
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Noisy engine
  • Noisy at low speeds

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
Like all 570-series McLarens, this is a truly fantastic driver's car. Light, accurate, Lotus-like steering is becoming a McLaren hallmark. The curiously flat-sounding turbocharged V8 makes the onrushing scenery seem all the faster, but it's a shame the 570 doesn't have a more fittingly emotive soundtrack.

Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Fantastic powertrain

Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive
  • Rear glass can be hot to touch

carmagazine[5]

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The 600LT aims to carry on where the last LT left off. The engine mounts are stiffer, the steering 3 per cent quicker, responses from the throttle and brakes are said to be sharper. Adaptive dampers carry over, but are re-tuned, and the suspension is lowered by 8mm and the front track wider by 10mm. Spring rates are up 13 per cent at the front, 34 per cent rear.

Pros
  • Punchy acceleration
  • Impressive chassis balance
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • Lacklustre downshifts
  • Pricier than the 570S

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The 540C is McLaren's least expensive car. It lacks the 650S's Proactive Chassis Control. It also goes without the hybrid powertrains of either the P1 or McLaren's MP4-31 F1 car (a relief in the case of the latter) At 533bhp, 398lb ft and 199mph is down 29bhp on the £143,250 570S.

Pros

  • No Proactive Chassis Control
  • No hybrid powertrains

The 570GT is a very civilised beast – a domesticated lion, no less. Mid-corner bumps when the car is under severe lateral load are smoothed over with a mere hiccough. The air of civility is completed by a quieter exhaust, compared with the 570S's. The 570GT eerily dispatches 62mph from standstill in 3.4secs.

McLaren 570S is the new baby McLaren that completes the company's three-tier line-up. It slots one rung below the Super Series models (650S and 675LT) and two below the Ultimate Series cars (P1 and P1 GTR) It uses a variation of the same carbon fibre chassis and 3.8-litre twin turbo V8. Yet it costs £143,250 and the detuned, less opulent 540C that follows in spring 2016 costs £126,000.

Reviewers from topgear have found the following***:
You'll buy the McLaren because of the way it steers. The seats, whether you go for the standard multi-adjustable items or one-piece racing buckets, are firm and thinly padded. The steering wheel is unadorned, the windscreen scuttle is low, you enjoy a wide-angle view out. Because it's light, and has a relatively modest 3.8-litre engine, cruising fuel economy is reasonable.
