Product Overview

McLaren 570S is a mid-size sports car in production from 2015. It is available with several tunes of a bi-turbocharged V8 engine that displaced 3.8 liters. A 7-speed DCT and RWD are standard.
Confusingly, while the base model develops 570PS and is named 570S, other tunes of this engine are named after their respective output levels and do not share the same "model name".
Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the McLaren 570S comes with double-wishbone suspensions at all four corners.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 98% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Lightweight seats from the Senna hypercar that will distort your spine and numb your legs over very long journeys. Weight has been cut elsewhere through the use of thinner glass, carbonfibre for more of the body panels, top exit exhausts that have less pipework and lightened suspension components. The 600LT is explosively fast, it steers beautifully and it is shot through with agility and handling precision.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Superb ride quality
Cons
  • Brake pedal can be frustrating
  • Not as fast as 570S

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
There's a shark-like front end with a low, sculpted front spoiler design that curves up at the edges to meet the trademark headlights. At the rear the flying buttresses of the 570S are removed to make way for the glass shelled luggage compartment behind the seats. The doors swing up to reveal the low-slung seats, but they're accessed more easily than in the S model thanks to a lower and narrower sill. The seats are heated and electrically adjustable and once you're in them, there's a good view out by supercar standards.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Slow to respond to basic navigation

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 100% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Like all 570-series McLarens, this is a truly fantastic driver's car. Light, accurate, Lotus-like steering is becoming a McLaren hallmark. The curiously flat-sounding turbocharged V8 makes the onrushing scenery seem all the faster, but it's a shame the 570 doesn't have a more fittingly emotive soundtrack.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Fantastic powertrain
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive
  • Rear glass can be hot to touch

topgear[4]

Reviewer score 95% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
You'll buy the McLaren because of the way it steers. The seats, whether you go for the standard multi-adjustable items or one-piece racing buckets, are firm and thinly padded. The steering wheel is unadorned, the windscreen scuttle is low, you enjoy a wide-angle view out. Because it's light, and has a relatively modest 3.8-litre engine, cruising fuel economy is reasonable.
Pros
  • Sleek looks
  • Excellent handling
  • Excellent infotainment system
Cons
  • Not the most comfortable to drive
  • Not the fastest
