Product Overview

Lamborghini Aventador is a flagship supercar / hyper car in production from 2011 to 2022. It was available with multiple tunes of Lamborghini's naturally-aspirated V12 engine that displaced 6.5 liters.
Undoubtedly, the most exciting thing about the Lamborghini Aventador is the V12 engine, which offers a level of smoothness and instant power response that no other engine configuration can compare.
Compared to earlier models, the Aventador is more refined and easier to drive. Still, utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Lamborghini Aventador comes with double-wishbone suspensions at all four corners.

autocar[1]

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The SVJ is fast in the old-fashioned, brutal way, in a straight line. The V12 engine is exceptionally urgent, and feels no slower to me than the crop of hypercars I’ve driven. It’s mated to a single-clutch gearbox which is as terrible most of the time as you’ll expect. Braking is excellent, in terms of strength.

Pros
  • Powerful V12 engine
  • Superb handling
Cons
  • No hybridisation
  • Not as fast as some rivals

autocar[2]

Reviewer score 79%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Like every Aventador to date, the SVJ is wide enough that, while it’s a less nervy steer amid roomier motorway markings, it fills a lane on a typical UK single carriageway road with very little breathing space to spare. Steering that can seem changeable and unsettling at first, but becomes more consistent if you use its fixed-ratio ‘Corsa’ program. A gearbox that can frustrate with its abrupt, intrusive, poorly timed changes in automatic mode, but that works better as a paddleshift manual.

Pros
  • Big, burly V12
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive
  • Noisy gearbox

autoexpress[3]

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Aventador SVJ adds more power, sophisticated active aerodynamics and wild styling. Despite an eight per cent power hike, the all-new V12 engine is around 20 per cent more fuel-efficient than the V12 found in the old Murcielago. With a 90-litre fuel tank you can achieve decent range on the road, and it doesn't demand high-octane fuel.

Pros
  • Powerful V12 engine
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Superb infotainment system
Cons
  • Noisy automatic gearbox
  • Alternatives have bigger boots

urgring Nordschleife circuit. As last hurrahs go, this one is quite special. It's the same 6.5-litre V12 that the Aventador launched with way back in 2011, but here it produces a frankly obscene 760bhp and very nearly as much torque. The meaner exterior look and mad aero is not just for show – adding 40 per cent more downforce.

Pros
  • Powerful V12 engine
  • Impressive infotainment system
Cons
  • Not as fast as the Aventador S
  • No fixed top speed

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
Super Veloce Jota replaces the old SV at the track-ready top of the Lamborghini tree. Power climbs 740bhp to 760bhp and there's a version of the Huracan Performante's clever active aero technology. Two-point-eight seconds to 62mph, 8.6sec to 124mph (200kmh) and 217mph flat out. It's stupidly quick by normal standards, but not that quick by supercar standards.

Pros
  • Powerful V12
  • Superb performance

Cons
  • Lacklustre handling
  • Lack of manual box

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The Aventador S is a supercar with some old-school rawness to it. There's 39bhp extra, if no additional torque at 509lb ft. Despite its 730bhp, the SV's 100kg weight loss gives it permission to focus more on power. The new airbox can be virtually split into smaller or larger sections by the use of drive-by-wire throttles.

Pros
  • Gorgeous V12 engine
  • Fantastically fast
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • Rear-wheel steering feels a little stubborn

carmagazine[7]

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The £286k Aventador LP700-4 seems to tick every supercar ‘box. It's got a carbon chassis, pushrod suspension, is lower than a daschund's beer gut and packs a storming 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 kicking out the best part of 700bhp. But it's also rides horribly, feels disappointingly understeery on track and the single-clutch gearbox is slower than human evolution.

Pros
  • Powerful V12 engine
  • Superb looks
Cons
  • Not as powerful as the regular Aventador

Reviewers from topgear have found the following***:
Sitting in the Aventador S is an event in itself and, seat aside, the driving position is great. There's Apple CarPlay as standard, so if you plug your phone in you don't have to look at the nasty graphicsanymore. CO2? The best part of 400g/km, while averaging a claimed 24.4mpg. Yes, it's a whole hill of money, but there's nothing else like a Lamborghini.

Pros
  • Bigger, more fun to drive
  • Bigger and better interior
Cons
  • Lack of refinement
  • Not great for the money
