Product Overview

Lexus RC (chassis code XC10) facelift is a compact executive coupe in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 2.0 to 5.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, the most obvious changes are around the front and rear lighting and vent situations. Overall, the car remains largely unchanged.
On a positive note, this is perhaps the last chance to get Toyota's 2UR-GSE V8 engine in a smallish car, with the LC 500 being perhaps the last, last car to feature it.
Lexus has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 294L (10cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Lexus RC comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities. Another plus is the small 10.4m (34.1ft) turning circle.

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The RC F still feels like a classic muscle car in an industry that, by and large, has long since moved on. Despite the engineers’ nerdiest efforts to shave off some weight with new aluminium chassis components, this is still not far off 200kg heftier than a BMW M4. The beautifully comfortable front seats are mounted too high, so taller people feel more hemmed in than they should. Rear head room is pitiful, too. And, despite the upgrade, it still lags behind the Germans for technology features and usability.

Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Impressive refinement
  • Excellent standard equipment
Cons
  • Lacklustre infotainment
  • Rear headroom could be better

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
-life revamp three years after its launch. Styling updates for the RC for 2019 are largely restricted to a pair of intricate new LED headlights and reshaped tail-lights. There are chassis upgrades such as new shock absorbers and retuned steering. Neither seems to have done an awful lot to alter the RC’s dynamics. It's more within its comfort level when the pace is dropped, allowing you to enjoy low noise levels and a nicely resolved ride.

Pros
  • Sleek looks
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Lack of dynamic edge
  • Fiddly infotainment system

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The bold looking Lexus RC is a two-door coupe with room for four inside. It was first revealed at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, and arrived in UK dealers two years later. The car has since gained a light facelift in 2019 and is still one of the best-looking cars in its class, in our opinion. But the RC doesn't deliver the polished drive its looks promise.

Pros
  • Stylish looks

Cons
  • Less practical than rivals
  • Not as practical as rivals

autoexpress[4]

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
ift has done little to dent the RC's dramatic visual appeal. It still stands out from its German competitors and it's all the better for that. Lexus has also tweaked the steering and suspension, but while this has improved, it's in terms of road manners that the RC still doesn't feel as fun or involving to drive as a BMW 4 Series or a Mercedes C-Class Coupe.

Pros
  • More fun to drive
  • Improved infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre engine
  • Lack of refinement

The Lexus RC matches is comely exterior with a cozy, enveloping interior. There's plenty of room for front occupants to stretch out, though back-seat passengers will need to be average-sized or smaller. The optional 835-watt Mark Levinson premium audio system is a good road-trip companion.

Pros
  • Powerful V6 engine
  • Comfortable ride
  • Excellent infotainment tech
Cons
  • Lack of safety tech
  • Lacks standard Apple CarPlay
  • Limited-slip differential

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The Lexus Enform infotainment system is bad. It's incredibly easy to swipe past icons, even after adjusting the parameters of the touchpad. There is limited in-cabin storage and the truck only offers 10.1 cubic feet of space. At $65,925 to start, the RC F is cheaper than its key rivals.

Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Comfortable back seats
  • Good standard driver-assistance features
Cons
  • Lackluster infotainment tech
  • Limited in-cabin space
