Product Overview

Volkswagen Atlas (chassis code CA1) facelift is a large crossover in production from 2020. It is available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.6 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, the facelifted Atlas has a slightly more aggressive exterior. Interestingly, Volkswagen continues to use its VR6 engine, now enlarged to 3.6L for the North American market. The Chinese market gets its smaller sister model. The Chinese also get DSG transmission rather than automatics.
Utility-minded owners will love the 2741L (97cu-ft) cargo space.

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
On the highway, the Atlas' vague steering and soft suspension makes the SUV feel almost truck-ish. With such a wide body, there often isn't much wiggle room between the lane markers. The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport starts at $31,565 for the base 2.0T S model.

Pros
  • Comfortable ride
  • Good infotainment tech

The 2021 VW Atlas starts out at an affordable $32,565 before destination. It's a bit austere in design, but it's suitably fast and it looks slick with the quick-navigation buttons. While plenty of safety systems come standard, the loadout only gets better as you throw down more dough.

Pros
  • Great infotainment tech
  • Comfortable third row
  • Lots of safety features
Cons
  • No third-row USB
  • No USB-C
