Kia Niro 2 (SG2)
Compact CrossoverProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Kia Niro Mk2 (chassis code SG2) is a compact crossover in production from 2021. Interestingly, it is available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or battery-electric vehicle. The first two share a small 1.6L I4 engine.
Marketed as an "SUV", the Niro is more appropriately described as a crossover, or perhaps a slightly taller hatchback. It has good exterior styling and interior appointments, though this segment is purchased by people who prefer economy over ideology. A good-old diesel might have made Kia more sales instead.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Kia Niro II is hardly the "offroader" that Kia would like you to think.
