Product Overview

Toyota Tundra Mk3 (chassis code XK70) is a full-size pickup in production from 2021. It is available with a range of V6 engines that displaced 3.4 liters.
Like the Land Cruiser J300 to which it is related, the Mk3 Tundra uses a new bi-turbo V6 engine lineup, with hybridization as an option. The petrol-only engines are paired to Toyota's 10-speed auto gearbox, while the hybrid vehicles use a setup similar to that found in the LC 500h and LS 500h.
Compared to its predecessor, the XK70 Tundra has a superb exterior styling. However, its relatively smaller, petrol-only engine lineup casts some doubts on the minds of consumers in this segment, who appreciate the fuel economy but may want either the torque of a diesel or the experience of a large V8.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, will appreciate the extraordinary approach and departure angles that the chassis offers. Owners may find that at speed the vehicle consumes a lot more than the numbers indicate, thanks to a disappointing 0.36 coefficient of drag to show for it. Another negative is the horridly large 14.8m (48.5ft) turning circle.

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Tundra felt like an old truck, not something fresh off the drafting board. The steering felt too loose and imprecise to elicit confidence. Toyota offers a TRD Off-Road Package, as well as a dedicated TRD Pro off-road model. The 2022 Ford F-150 hybrid is officially rated at 25 mpg in all three categories.
Pros
  • Excellent off-road performance
  • Excellent fuel economy
  • Good infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of tech features
  • Lacklustre ride quality
