Product Overview

Mazda CX-8 (chassis code KG) is a large three-row crossover in production from 2017. It is available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 2.2 to 2.5 liters.
Based on the CX-5, it is smaller than the CX-9 and less well-equipped. Mazda differentiates the CX-8 by making it available only in select countries where CX-9 is not sold.
The Mazda CX-8 is limited to inline-4, which just a decade ago would be considered inadequate but which is what most have to live with today, thanks to regulations. Still, these engines are rather reliable, which suits the character of the car well.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Mazda CX-8 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

Reviewer score 57%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
Mazda hasn't offered a seven-seater vehicle in the UK since the Mazda 5 MPV was dropped in 2015. So, you may be surprised to learn that on the other side of the world, Australian parents are spoilt with the choice of two. There's genuine space for adults in that third row, while folding the seats brings significantly more boot space. It's just a pity the UK misses out on another of Mazda's big SUVs.
