Product Overview

Honda Insight Mk3 (chassis code ZE4) is a compact sedan in production from 2019 to 2022. It was designed as a hybrid-only model. Indeed, it is essentially the hybrid-version of the Mk10 Honda Civic with some styling differences. For the Mk11 Civic, the hybrid model is sold also as Civic (the Insight model line is hence discontinued).
Compared to the Toyota Prius, the Insight is rather similar. One has to choose based on one's preference for styling and interior design.

Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Honda’s goal has been to create a ‘premium compact saloon’ The Insight Hybrid is being sold in the US, Canada and Japan, but there are no current plans to bring it to Europe. Stateside, it slots into the electrified range below the Accord Hybrid and Clarity Plug-In Hybrid.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
  • Good range-topping interior
Cons
  • Expensive compared to rivals
  • No hybrid option in the US

cnet[2]

Reviewer score 43% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
Offered in three trims -- LX, EX and Touring -- the Insight comes with a generous amount of equipment. Honda Sensing, the automaker's suite of advanced driver aids, is standard across the board. The Insight is pretty innocuous to drive, clearly prioritizing efficiency over even the notion of sport.
Pros
  • Excellent fuel efficiency
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent ride quality
Cons
  • Unimpressive powertrain
  • No spare tire or trunk-closing handle

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
EPA ratings for the Insight are 55mpg city and 49mpg highway for the lighter LX and EX trims. The LX starts at $22,930, the EX at $24,310, and the Touring at $28,340. The Insight's interior is more refined than the Civic's, but in line with other hybrids in its class.
Pros
  • Comfortable ride
  • Solid fuel economy
  • Comfortable, quiet interior
Cons
  • Lackluster infotainment
  • Lack of charging options
