Product Overview

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is a full-size luxury convertible in production from 2007 to 2016. It was powered by BMW's N73B68 naturally-aspirated V12 engine that displaced 6.75 liters. Earlier models used ZF 6HP 6-speed automatic transmission; this unit was updated to the 8-speed ZF 8HP.
The largest convertible made in almost half a century, the Phantom Drophead Coupe is an exceptional statement. Its level of refinement and fit and finish are unrivalled. While Rolls-Royce used some new materials, the car is very heavy and stately. Hence, even the large V12 is insufficient for spirited driving in this vehicle.
While the 14.8L/100km (15.9mpg) fuel "dis-economy" is hardly excellent, it is quite acceptable considering the luxury that this car offers.

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
At 5609mm long it's absolutely enormous and parking it requires astute use of both parking camera and beeping parking radars. Despite its aluminium spaceframe construction, the Drophead weighs in at a portly 2620kg. On the road it handles with an agility and nimbleness that's at odds with its girth. And the brakes – ventilated 374mm front and 370mm rear rotors – are simply superb.
Pros
  • Fantastic build quality
  • Punchy engine
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • No wind deflector
