Lexus SC 430 (chassis code Z40) is a luxury mid-size hardtop convertible in production from 2001 to 2010. It was powered by a 3UZ-FE naturally-aspirated V8 engine that displaced 4.3 liters.
The successor to the original SC coupe, the SC430 re-popularized the hardtop convertible concept in the industry. With it, Lexus sought to kill two birds with one stone: the car was meant both as a coupe and as a convertible.
Over the years, the SC430 has proven to be the most reliable convertible made in the last two decades. Its exceptional drivetrain is virtually indestructible, while its styling has proven to be timeless.
The car's double-wishbone + multi-link suspension setup affords it rather good handling characteristics, even though the chassis is not the most rigid.
