Product Overview

Bentley Continental R is a full-size ultra-luxury coupe in production from 1991 to 2003. It was available with different tunes of a turbocharged V8 petrol engine that displaced 6.75 liters. The only transmission is a GM 4L80E, which sends power to the rear wheels.
The flagship of Bentley through the 1990s, the Continental R followed a long line of ultra-luxury coupes from Rolls-Royce and Bentley for grand touring. It was initially launched as just the Continental R. A high-power, short-wheelbase Continental T joined the lineup later. Finally, the Continental R Mulliner combined the longer wheelbase of the R with the higher output of the T; it was the most desirable model.
With a 18.7L/100km (12.6mpg) fuel "dis-economy", owners have to be prepared to pay for their "smiles-per-mile".
