Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class X166 is the facelifted version of the X166 GL-Class full-size crossover in production from 2015 to 2019. It was available with a range of V6 and V8 engines that displaced 3.0 to 5.5 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, the GLS introduced the M276 bi-turbo V6 in the form of GLS400. In other regards, the same engines were kept, sometimes with a small power bump. Another difference is the introduction of 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission on the non-AMG models. While it has arguably too many gears and the vehicle hunts gears a lot, this unit has proven to be more reliable than the 7G-Tronic.
