Product Overview

BMW X5 E70 LCI is a mid-size crossover in production from 2010 to 2013. It was available with a range of inline-6 and V8 engines that displaced 3.0 to 4.4 liters.
Compared to the pre-LCI model, the LCI introduced significant changes, some of them disastrous: The N63 hot-V bi-turbo V8 replaced the not-so-unreliable N62 NA V8. In its original design, the N63 is arguably the least reliable modern V8 in the entire automotive industry. On the I6 front, the N55 petrol and N57 diesel replaced the decent N52 and M57 engines, too. Overall, the E70 LCI is the single least reliable generation of BMW crossovers.
The only "good" thing is the new 8-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission, though with a horrible engine lineup this is not a meaningful update.
