Product Overview

Aston Martin Rapide is a full-size luxury sedan in production from 2010 to 2020. It was available with different tunes of Aston's homegrown V12 engine that displaced 5.9 liters.
Launched soon after the initial success of Mercedes' CLS Class, the Rapide has a fastback design also shared by the Porsche Panamera. As a more premium brand, Aston Martin made sure that the Rapide is exceptionally gorgeous. Its naturally-aspirated V12 was the such engines in a luxury sedan (while Audi had a naturally-aspirated W12 in the A8L).
In 2014, Aston updated the vehicle with a new 8-speed automatic transmission and higher engine output (now with AM29 engine code). Towards the end of the production run, a high-performance version, Rapid AMR, was introduced.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Aston Martin Rapide comes with double-wishbone suspensions at all four corners.

Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Aston Martin Rapide AMR is it, then. The once bold new era, heralded by the introduction of a vehicle platform called VH, which allowed about a dozen (similar) cars to be launched on the same architecture, draws to a close. And this Rapide, as outlandish as VH cars became, what with having four doors and four seats, is the last of the old line of cars to disappear. There’ll be 210 of them badged this way, with 35 extra horsepower and costing 45,450 extra pounds over a Rapide S.
Pros
  • Aston Martin’s most exciting V12 yet
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Good ride quality
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive

Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
Lagonda will be an all-electric brand, reborn by EV pioneer Andy Palmer. The Rapide E is a test bed for the return of the Lagonda brand. Only 155 Rapide Es are going to be made, with Aston CEO a potential customer. The twin motors on the rear axle produce 604bhp and an intoxicating EV wail.
Pros
  • Powerful V12 engine
  • Aston’s first all-electric car
Cons
  • Nothing in particular
