Product Overview

Ford Freestyle / Taurus X is an affordable full-size crossover in production from 2005 to 2009. It was available with a couple of V6 engines that displaced 3.0 and 3.5 liters.
Interestingly, Ford marketed the vehicle as Freestyle for the first two years of its production run; as the financial crisis hit, Ford then renamed the vehicle as Taurus X and gave it a front fascia similar to that found in the Taurus sedan. On theory is that Ford wanted to use more common parts in order to cut down production costs, though it's never confirmed.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Ford Freestyle uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
