Alpina B3 Touring F31 is a high-performance compact executive station wagon in production from 2013 to 2019. It was available with a range of modified inline-6 engines that displaced 3.0 liters.
The F31 B3 Touring was originally based on the F31 BMW 335i and 335i xDrive Touring. Towards the end of the production run, Alpina introduced a couple of more powerful models based on the F31 BMW 340i / 340i xDrive. The base engine remained the N55B30 turbocharged I6.
While the N55 was undoubtedly an improvement over the N54, it still pales in comparison to the new, closed-deck B58 engine designed with inputs from Toyota. Still, Alpina upgraded the bottom end, and we may expect improved durability as a result.
