Product Overview

Subaru Levorg (chassis code VM) is a mid-size station wagon in production from 2014 to 2020. It was available with a range of flat-4 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
Sharing its platform with the GJ/GP Impreza and VA WRX, the Levorg is a marketed as a premium vehicle with good handling characteristics and relatively fine interior appointments. Like many Subaru vehicles, it uses a flat-4 engine driving all four wheels via a symmetric AWD system. The only transmission available is a CVT unit marketed as "Lineartronic".
The Levorg is rather beautifully designed and could be successful in more markets, though Subaru only sold it as a right-hand-drive vehicle.
The vehicle received a facelift towards the end of its production run; the main difference is the removal of the hood scoop.

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 41% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Subaru Levorg is a car that may well have escaped your attention up to this point. It arrived on the UK market in 2015 and was actually an indirect replacement for the Subaru Legacy Tourer, which had gone out of production in 2014. There's just one bodystyle and trim level available while all models get all-wheel drive married to the same engine and gearbox combination. A facelift in the spring of 2019 brought subtly revised styling with updates to the grille, bumper, headlights and bonnet.
Pros
  • Decent standard kit list
  • Decent all-wheel drive
Cons
  • No CVT gearbox
  • Alternatives are more fun to drive

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Levorg is an attractive, almost conservative estate car. Subaru says it fills the hole left by the ever-growing Legacy/Outback family. Powered by a 1.6-litre boxer engine breathed on by a twin-scroll turbo to pump out 168bhp from 4800-5600rpm and a chunky 184lb ft of torque.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of character
  • No diesel engines
