Product Overview

Jaguar XJ X350 is a full-size luxury sedan in production from 2003 to 2006, whereupon it received a facelift as well as a new chassis code X358. It was available with a range of V6 and V8 engines that displaced 2.7 to 4.2 liters.
The X350 could be understood as a modern interpretation of the tremendously successful design of the X308, though the newer, rounder lines seem not to compart the level of solemnity that its predecessor did. Only the XJR, with its more aggressive details, seems to stand out till this day.
The V6 diesel in the X350, a first for the XJ, was directly from Ford. This hardly suits the character of the car and was a childish attempt to catch the diesel bandwagon.
The petrol engine in the XJ6 was from the Jaguar AJ-V6 engine family. The XJ8 and XJR used larger version of the AJ-V8 engine than were found in the X308. Many details were shared. All had VVT and fracture-split forged conrods.
The 6-speed ZF 6HP26 was the only transmission, and all vehicles were RWD.
Naturally, the XJ continued to use double-wishbone suspensions all around for comfort and, perhaps surprisingly, best-in-class handling (also thanks to its aluminum unibody structure).
