Product Overview

Infiniti Q45 Mark III (chassis code F50) is a full-size luxury sedan in production from 2001 to 2006. It was powered by a single naturally-aspirated V8 engine that displaced 4.5 liters mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. It was also sold as Nissan Cima or Nissan President where the Infiniti brand was not in operation.
The Gen3 Q45 regained the 4.5L displacement after losing it in the Gen2 model. This Nissan VK engine has a range of advanced features, including 4 titanium valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, and forged connecting rods. As a result, compared to contemporary V8s of similar displacement, the VK45DE had a rather high output, even though it did not have direct injection. Additionally, the engine used a toothed timing chain that was quiet and durable.
Still, Infiniti kept the MacPherson strut front suspension setup, a choice that is low maintenance but at the cost of high-speed handling.
Overall, the Q45 Mark III is a reliable and comfortable choice that does not excite and did not sell well.
