Alpina B5 E60 Sedan (2005-2011)
Alpina B5 E60 is a high-performance executive sedan in production from 2005 to 2011. It was available with a supercharged V8 engine that displaced 4.4 liters.
Based on the E60 BMW 545i, the E60 Alpina B5 had essentially the same powertrain setup as the E65 Alpina B7: On the N62B44 naturally-aspirated V8, Alpina bolted a centrifugal supercharger that greatly improved the engine's output. Naturally, internals were upgraded to handle the extra power.
Later, Alpina introduced a higher-output version of the E60 B5, aptly dubbed B5 S.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Alpina B5 E60 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
