Product Overview

Alpina B12 (chassis code E38) is a high-performance full-size luxury sedan in production from 1995 to 2000. It was available with two displacement levels of a modified M73 naturally-aspirated V12 engine. The vehicle was based on the E38 BMW 750i.
Corresponding to the pre-facelift E38, the Alpina B12 used a 5.7L engine; this was increased to 6.0L in facelift guise. Both were mated to ZF's 5HP30 5-speed automatic transmission.
In enlarging the displacement from the stock 5.4L, Alpina beefed up the internals of the block, added new cylinder heads, and modified the intake, exhaust, and fuel management system. The vehicle also came with Alpina's body kit and interior upgrades.
