Product Overview

Lexus IS-F is a high-performance compact executive sedan in production from 2008 to 2014. It was available with a single naturally-aspirated V8 engine that displaced 5.0 liters.

The first Lexus "F" vehicle, the IS-F is Toyota's attempt to create an M3 alternative. Compared to the latter, it features a more advanced suspension setup. However, the IS-F is based on the 2nd-gen IS (XE20), which has a small engine bay designed to fit a V6 engine. As a result, the V8 engine is mounted rather to the front of the chassis (and necessitated having a longer front overhang), resulting in poorer weight distribution. Hence, the superior suspension setup did not earn the IS-F better handling vis-a-vis the E90 M3.

Having said that, the 2UR-GSE 5.0L NA V8 is a superb engine that also offers great reliability. The vehicle also has great road presence that is loved by enthusiasts.
