Lexus IS Mark III (chassis code XE30) is a compact executive sedan in production from 2013 to 2016, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.5 liters.
Style-wise, the Gen3 Lexus IS received a significant update. While the spindle grille has been argued by many not to work on some models, in its more restrained form it works well for the IS.
Powertrain-wise, however, things aren't as great: The IS 350 became limited to North American and Japanese markets. The rest of the world had access to only IS 250 with a 2.5L 4GR-FSE direct-injection V6.
More readily available was the hybrid IS 300h, while a small turbo-I4 was marketed as IS 200t.
Lexus has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the IS Mark III (XE30) comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities. Another plus is the small 10.4m (34.1ft) turning circle.
