Toyota Crown 14 (code S210) is an executive sedan in production from 2012 to 2018. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.5 liters.
Like the Gen13 Toyota Crown, the S210 Crown was still assembled primarily in Japan for global markets. It was offered with two styles, the more elegant Crown Royal and the sportier Crown Athlete.
Unfortunately, Toyota was feeling the pressure from environmentalists at this point, and the S210 Crown suffered from downsizing. A turbocharged I4 was added, breaking the 6+ cylinder tradition for the last three decades (minus a diesel of two here and there). On the plus side, the Gen14 Crown is still petrol-only. Also lost was V8 options.
On the plus side, the Crown S210 has superb exterior styling. The Crown Athlete in particular is arguably much better than the L10 Lexus GS.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Crown 14 (S210) comes with double-wishbone + multi-link suspensions. This provides close to the best cornering performance and tunability. Another plus is the small 10.4m (34.1ft) turning circle.
