Nissan Altima 5 (code L33) is an affordable mid-size sedan in production from 2012 to 2018. It was available with inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.5 to 3.5 liters.
Unfortunately, Nissan doubled-down with CVT. Now that manual was no longer available, the Gen5 Altima used it exclusively.
On the other hand, Nissan continued to offer the VQ35DE 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6, which at least is some part of the car that has a proven reliability record.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the L33 Altima uses MacPherson strut front suspensions, though it is highly unlikely for any self-respecting enthusiast to want a CVT anyway.
