Product Overview
Volkswagen Phaeton (typ 3D) facelift is the facelifted version (marketed as 2nd-generation) of the Phaeton full-size luxury sedan in production from 2010 to 2015. It is available with V6, V8, and W12 engines that displaced 3.0 to 6.0 liters.
At this point, the Phaeton became long in the tooth. It had powertrain options closer to that found in the Audi D3 A8, even though the D4 A8 already came on the market. On the plus side, these older engines were tried-and-true naturally-aspirated units that were proven to handle high mileage much better than VW's newer TFSI units.
The Volkswagen Phaeton comes with a high towing capacity. It also features multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
