Subaru Legacy 6 (code BN) is an affordable large sedan in production from 2014 to 20201. It is available with a flat-4 and a flat-6 engine that displaced 2.5L and 3.6L respectively. In select markets (EU), an H4 diesel was offered.
Unlike it was with the Gen5 Legacy, the BN Legacy came with more limited drivetrain options. Instead, Subaru wanted the vehicle to go upmarket. Interior space was the largest in the history of the model, and fit and finished was improved.
Still, the naturally-aspirated H6 (and the H4) engines are some of the sweetest that had ever come out of Subaru's (now chiefly American) production line.

Reviewer score 67%-four you'll find in the Ascent and Outback. The 2.5-liter flat-four should return 35 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive. The Legacy's cabin is airy with a lot of glass letting in oodles of natural light. There's generous room for passengers up front or in back.

Reviewer score 67%The turbocharged engine makes a lot of power for an ordinary family sedan. This Legacy is decently quick (zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds), but nothing else about it is sporty. The CVT also sabotages the engine with uneven power delivery. Subaru offers a three-year, 36,000-mile, basic warranty.
