Product Overview

Sony HX90V is an entry-level 1/2.3" compact camera with a large zoom range. Introduced by Sony in 2015, it comes with a 1/2.3" sensor with 18 MP (4896 x 3672) resolution and a 0.64 million-dot EVF.
The camera has a usable battery life, though a second battery may be a good thing to keep in your camera bag. It should be noted for having a 80 base ISO, which promises cleaner shots. The 10.0 fps burst rate serves enthusiasts well enough, though some professionals may find it limiting.
The DSC-HX90V comes with a built-in GPS. Sony has endowed this compact camera with a 30x zoom lens, which can be quite useful for travels. Last but not least, the camera can focus quite close to the subject.

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and white balance, along with being able to tap the live image on your handset to move the single AF area. The latest version of Smart Remote Control also lets you start and stop recording a movie from your handset, although you’ll first need to turn the camera’s mode dial to the movie position. The HX90V offers a number of composite modes that shoot a fast sequence of shots and composite them to provide a better result than would be possible with a single frame.
Pros
  • 30x optical zoom
  • Good image quality
  • Built-in GPS
Cons
  • Touch controls are greyed-out
  • Touch AF is disabled in movie mode
