Product Overview

Sony RX1R II is a high-end full-frame compact camera with a prime lens. Introduced by Sony in 2015, it comes with a full-frame sensor with 42 MP (7952 x 5304) resolution and a 2.36 million-dot EVF.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. The DSC-RX1R II's 5.0 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The RX1R II comes with 399 autofocus points. Interestingly, Sony has endowed this compact camera with a prime lens, which appeals to a distinctly different set of consumers than the usual point-and-shoot users. Last but not least, the camera can focus quite close to the subject.
