Product Overview

Leica M11 is the new flagship rangefinder camera in the Leica M-mount system. Introduced by Leica in 2022, it comes with a full-frame sensor with 60 MP (9528 x 6328) resolution.
The camera has a good battery life, though it is nothing to write home about. It should be noted for having a 64 base ISO, which promises cleaner shots. The Leica M11's 4.5 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The Leica M11 comes with a fully articulated touch display.

External Reviews

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from dpreview have found:
The M11 is Leica's surest step yet in the direction of truly modernizing the M-series, but I don't know if I'm completely sold. The new sensor is fantastic, and offers a lot more resolution, and better image quality than was possible from the M10. There is a limit to the accuracy you can hope to achieve with a mechanically coupled rangefinder focusing mechanism, and the more pixels you put behind the lens.
Pros
  • Fantastic new sensor
  • Excellent image quality
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Lack of manual focus
  • Slow shutter

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Leica dropped the discrete internal light meter from the camera in favor of using the image sensor to meter. The M11 fires at 4.5fps at its highest speed and can keep that pace up for about 15 shots at 60MP or 36MP. Burst shooting isn't the way most photographers will use an M, but it's available.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Full focus range
  • Compatible with many lenses
Cons
  • No dedicated light meter
  • No telephoto lens

techradar[3]

Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The M11 is aimed at photographers looking for a hands-on, traditional rangefinder shooting experience with simple controls. 3-inch touchscreen is sharp and clear with a fantastically simple menu system that’s easy to navigate using the D-pad or by touch. Focusing is manual-only using the split-image rangefinder that's viewable through the optical viewfinder. Minimum focusing distance is a massive 70cm, and continuous shooting is limited to just 4.5fps.
Pros
  • Impressive image quality
  • Decent battery life
  • Easy to use LCD screen
Cons
  • 60MP sensor is unforgiving of focusing errors
  • No video recording
