Product Overview

Nikon D5600 is an affordable DSLR camera in the Nikon F-mount system. Introduced by Nikon in 2016, it comes with an APS-C sensor with 24 MP (6000 x 4000) resolution.
The camera has an excellent battery life, and you may just get away without a second battery. The Nikon D5600's 5.0 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The Nikon D5600 comes with a fully articulated touch display and 39 autofocus points.

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 27% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Nikon D5600 is good for landscape photography. It's comfortable to use, and its impressive image quality allows for photos that are sharp and detailed. Its video quality in FHD is disappointing, resulting in footage that isn't very sharp or detailed. It isn't designed for action video, and it doesn't have any advertised weather resistance.
Pros
  • Impressive image quality
  • Wide shutter speed range
  • Excellent autofocus system
  • Great image quality for travel photography
  • Good autofocusing performance
Cons
  • Bulky build
  • Can't record 4k video
  • Loud shutter operation
  • Poor video quality in FHD

t3[2]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Nikon D5600 features a ‘monocoque’ construction – which refers to it being fashioned from a single moulded shell. On this model, we get 95% frame coverage through the viewfinder, so what is seen is – almost – what we get. For those shooting video, a Full HD 1920x1080 pixels resolution is selectable, up to a maximum 59.94fps frame rate. No 4K resolution video option this time around, but this reflects this particular DSLR's entry-level status.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No 4K video option
  • No built-in GPS

tomsguide[3]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The D5600's entry-to-mid-level position keeps its maximum video quality at full HD (1920 x 1080) The camera offers 60/50/24fps options. The sensitivity of the built-in stereo microphone can be set to auto or manually adjusted. Battery life is quite good at a CIPA-rated 820 shots.
Pros
  • Excellent video quality
  • Easy to use
  • Easy-to-use SnapBridge app
Cons
  • Slow autofocus
  • Battery life could be better
