Canon EOS 5DS DSLR
Full-Frame CameraProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Canon EOS 5DS is a high-end DSLR camera in the Canon EF-mount system. Introduced by Canon in 2015, it comes with a full-frame sensor with 51 MP (8688 x 5792) resolution.
The camera has a good battery life, though it is nothing to write home about. The 5DS's 5.0 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The EOS 5DS comes with 61 autofocus points.

External Reviews

Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Canon EOS 5Ds is essentially an Eos 5D Mark III with double the resolution: no fewer than 50 Megapixels. It records massive industry-leading 50 Megapixel files which typically weigh-in at 25MB for Large Fine JPEGs or a considerable 75MB for 14-bit RAW files. The low pass filter in a digital camera slightly blurs the image to avoid moire when it’s sampled by a fixed array of pixels, but as resolutions increase it becomes less of an issue. So which to choose? It depends on your subject and how bothered you are about moire.
Pros
- Faster resolution than the EOS 5D Mark III
- Very good image quality
Cons
- No low-pass filter
- Moire can trigger moire
