Product Overview

Canon EOS Rebel T7 (EOS 2000D) is a affordable DSLR camera in the Canon EF-mount system. Introduced by Canon in 2018, it comes with an APS-C sensor with 24 MP (6000 x 4000) resolution.
The camera has a usable battery life, though a second battery may be a good thing to keep in your camera bag. The Rebel T7's 3.0 fps burst rate limits its use for certain types of photography, but it is hardly something that most photographers should worry about.
The EOS Rebel T7 comes with 9 autofocus points.

External Reviews

cameralabs[1]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
The EOS 2000D / Rebel T7 has a sensitivity range of 100 – 6400 ISO. The kit lens has a specified close focus distance of 0.25 metres. For macro shots, the best option is to zoom the lens all the way in to 55mm. With the lens opened up to its maximum f5.6 the depth of field is pretty shallow when zoomed in and close up.
Pros
  • Fantastic sensor
  • Accurate image quality
  • Fingerprint sensor
Cons
  • No continuous autofocus
  • No touchscreen
  • Limited effects filters

digitalpicture[2]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitalpicture have found:
Canon EOS Rebel T7 has a significantly higher resolution sensor. The T7 is also a very affordable backup camera to entry level pros. The 24 megapixel images are sufficient for most uses and when the subject is not challenging, the T7 may be all that is needed to get the shot.
Pros
  • Low price
  • Good image quality
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lack of feature set

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 14% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Canon EOS Rebel T7 offers very good image quality, with little in the way of graininess even at high ISO levels. Its kit lens offers a decently flexible zoom range, but exhibits severe light falloff, meaning that the corners of your image are likely to be much darker than the center point. The camera itself is decently comfortable to operate but feels quite cheaply made.
Pros
  • Very good image quality
  • Decently flexible zoom range
  • Good autofocus performance
Cons
  • Short battery life
  • No continuous tracking
  • Poor video stabilization performance

tomsguide[4]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
Both continuous shooting and autofocus speeds are good enough for most shooting conditions. The T7's battery life isn't bad, at 600 shots per charge. The combination of price, features and image quality make the Canon EOS Rebel T7 a solid option for both DSLR newcomers and more experienced users on a budget.
Pros
  • Good image quality
  • Fast autofocus
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • Battery life could be better
