Reviewers from dpreview have found:
This is a fairly straightforward prime lens, so its external design is simple. The barrel is essentially furnished with only two controls: a switch that alternates between autofocus and manual focus, and a manual focusing ring. Fifteen elements is quite a lot for a 50mm F1.4 lens, and that goes some way to explaining its 910g weight.
Pros
  • Excellent autofocus performance
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Relatively heavy for a 50mm F1.4
