Pentax HD Pentax-FA 31mm F1.8 Limited is a wide-angle prime lens for Pentax K-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Pentax in 2021, it has 9 elements in 7 groups.
Unfortunately, Pentax has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers. On the lens barrel, one can find a physical aperture ring. Those who wish to focus manually can have the best of both worlds (with the usual caveats).
The bright maximum aperture for a wide-angle lens is appreciated for night photography, though some may prefer the perspective of an ultra wide-angle lens for this. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
