Product Overview

Tamron 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD is an all-in-one zoom lens for Canon EF-mount, Nikon F-mount, and Sony A-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Tamron in 2014, it has 19 elements in 15 groups.
Like most zoom lenses, the Tamron 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD is externally-zooming. Fortunately, Tamron has provided a zoom lock that at least stops zoom creep.
An all-in-one zoom lens, the Tamron 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD trades some performance for versatility, though the most discerning photographers may find the image quality hardly satisfactory. The lens is also stabilized, making it even easier to use.

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from imagingsource have found:
The Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 could be a good choice for vacation use when you don't expect to need a lot of wide angle capability. The downside of the very smooth zoom operation though, was that the lens showed a slight tendency toward zoom creep. If you've invested in a full-frame DSLR, it really doesn't make sense to buy cheap lenses.
Pros
  • Sleek, compact design
  • Very smooth zoom operation
  • Very good image quality
Cons
  • Occasional chromatic aberration
  • Shading tends toward zoom creep
