Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC
APS-C LensProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC is an all-in-one zoom lens for Canon EF-mount, Nikon F-mount, and Sony A-mount. It covers the APS-C image circle. Introduced by Tamron in 2015, it has 16 elements in 14 groups.
Like most zoom lenses, the Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC is externally-zooming. Fortunately, Tamron has provided a zoom lock that at least stops zoom creep. For incremental weathers, Tamron is kind enough to include weather sealing.
An all-in-one zoom lens, the Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC trades some performance for versatility, though the most discerning photographers may find the image quality hardly satisfactory. The lens is also stabilized, making it even easier to use.

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 18-200 is surprisingly compact, given its incredible zoom range. Vignetting is very low, with a maximum of about 1/3 stop at wide angle and maximum aperture. Distortion covers quite a range, from about 1% barrel at 18mm, to about 0.6% pincushion at 50mm.
Pros
- Compact, compact design
- Excellent sharpness
Cons
- High chromatic aberration
- High price point

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 Di III VC is a good option for people that do not want to change lens in a trip. The biggest limitation is its slow aperture of 6.3, you really need to use it outdoor with lot of sun. As soon as the sun is not there you need to quickly climb in ISO from 800 to 6400, and you get noise. For wide angle like landscape don’t expect high quality corners neither If you look for a quality zoom these are the better alternatives.
Pros
- High quality zoom with constant aperture and power zoom, ideal for video, but more limited range
- Sharpness is ok on tripod on static subject
Cons
- Slow aperture of 6.3, you really need to use it outdoor with lot of sun
