Product Overview

Canon EF 50mm F1.8 STM is an entry-level normal prime lens for Canon EF-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Canon in 2015 as its last "nifty-fifty" for EF, it has 6 elements in 5 groups.
Unfortunately, Canon has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
A normal prime lens, the Canon EF 50mm F1.8 STM has the potential to be one of the most used and ultimately versatile option in a photographer's bag. Usually the easiest to design and to QC, it is a great option for landscape and street photography. Its bright maximum aperture also helps night and portrait works.
