Product Overview

LG UHD UP80 is a mainstream 4K VA TV in LG's 2021 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit VA panel and available in 43", 50", 55", 60", 65", 70", 75", 82", and 86" size classes.
A highlight of the LG UP80 is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 94.95%. Additionally, it supports HDR formats including HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and HDR10+. It performs well in terms of contrast.
On the downside, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of image quality.

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 29% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG UP8000 is an okay TV overall. It's best suited for watching TV shows or use as a PC monitor because it has an IPS-like panel with wide viewing angles. It has a good response time, but there's some motion duplication caused by its 120Hz backlight flicker. It upscales low-resolution content well and can remove judder from all sources.
Pros
  • Low input lag
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Good response time
Cons
  • No local dimming
  • Doesn't get very bright
  • No VRR support
