External Reviews

pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
As a gaming monitor, the Acer Predator CG7 is great. Playing single-player games is more immersive than anything else on the market (save perhaps the $4,999.99 HP Omen X Emperium 65 BFGD) However, as anything else (namely a TV that you'd watch HDR content on), it's lacking so much that it might as well not have the feature in the first place.
Pros
  • Great gaming performance
  • G-Sync Ultimate and G-Sync support
  • High refresh rate
Cons
  • HDR 1000 is muddled
  • No Dolby Vision support

tomshardware[2]

Reviewer score 92% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The Predator CG437K is large enough to completely fill our peripheral vision at a 3-4-foot distance. The edge backlight uses selective dimming to good effect, creating extra contrast without the halo artifacts that sometimes appear on FALD (full-array local dimming) displays. Control response was as good as the best gaming monitors we've tested.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Excellent build quality
Cons
  • No Dolby Vision support
  • No G-Sync support
