Product Overview

Dell S2721HGF is an affordable 27-inch FHD curved gaming monitor in Dell's 2020 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit VA panel.
Its 1500 curvature provides a more immersive visual experience. The included stand comes with tilt and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty.
In terms of drawbacks, this monitor lacks HDR support. Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

laptopmag[1]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Dell S2721HGF did a decent job in our benchmark tests, proving that it's a worthwhile monitor for its price. The curved display especially helped getting immersed into the game, as it felt like the world wrapped around my sightlines. However, the display could be brighter and its picture quality isn't exceptional.
Pros
  • Excellent color accuracy
  • Solid build quality
  • Easy to set up and use
Cons
  • Relatively expensive

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The 27-inch screen is a vertical alignment (VA) TFT panel with a 1500R curve. It has a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The Dell 27 shows better contrast performance than the Alienware 25. It lags a bit in color-gamut coverage.
Pros
  • High-refresh refresh rate
  • Excellent contrast
  • Solid motion performance
Cons
  • Mediocre contrast

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 42% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Dell S2721HGF is decent for most uses. It has low input lag, fast response time, and a high refresh rate, making it great for gaming. However, it's only decent for work and media consumption, mainly due to its 1080p resolution and poor ergonomics. Unfortunately, it doesn't support HDR.
Pros
  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • Excellent response time
  • High contrast ratio
  • Good sRGB coverage
Cons
  • Mediocre ergonomics
  • 1080p resolution might be too low for some

The Dell Curved Gaming Monitor S2721HGF has a 1920 x 1080 VA panel display. It has a 144Hz refresh rate, 99% sRGB coverage and a 1ms response time. It comes with two HDMI 1.4 ports, a DisplayPort 1.2 and a 3.5mm headphone out jack. You can manage simple settings like brightness and contrast but there isn't much beyond that.
Pros
  • Fantastic gaming performance
  • Decent contrast
Cons
  • No USB ports
  • No HDMI or DisplayPort ports
