Samyang AF 50mm F1.4 II is the 2nd generation of the South Korean company's first autofocus lens, the AF 50mm F1.4 for Sony E-mount. It is smaller and markedly lighter than its predecessor, even though more features as included and better image quality is assured (by Samyang).
Notably, the lens now offers weather sealing as well as a customizable switch (usually an AF on/off or IBIS on/off switch) and a customizable button (usually known as the AFL button). Samyang promises better coating that should contribute to reduced flaring, and the company has vastly improved the AF capabilities of its lenses since the 1st-gen model came out 5 years ago.
The AF 50mm F1.4 II adopts a new design language without the red ring. Its focus ring has a new texture first found in the AF 24-70mm F2.8 lens unveiled last month.
