Product Overview
Sony Xperia PRO-I is the 2021 revision of the Xperia PRO from last year. A flagship, camera-focused smartphone, the Xperia PRO-I boasts an industry-leading quad camera setup, including a 1-inch sensor for its main camera, the largest found in any smartphone to-date.
Beyond the camera, the Xperia PRO-I is no slouch, either: It uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform with 5G dual stand-by. On the front, we find a 6.5-inch OLED display with one of the highest pixel density (643ppi) on the market (though it is not an improvement from last year.
Several areas where the Xperia PRO-I did improve include a smaller size, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, a larger 4500mAh battery, and fast charging support up to 30W.
The main selling point of the Xperia PRO-I is certainly its cameras. Besides the aforementioned 1-inch sensor for the main camera, Sony also upgraded the telephoto unit to a 1/2.9" unit, though the ultra-wide camera remains unchanged. Notably, the Xperia PRO-I now can record 4K video at 120fps and FHD at 240fps.
Lat but not least, Sony is not going the "courage" route and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ZV-1 is also (sort-of) a proper camera with a proper 1"-type sensor and a proper 24-70mm equiv. zoom lens. Lanyard eyelet at the left bottom of the phone lets you attach a strap so you can ensure the phone won't drop to its death. We couldn't find a way to edit videos on the phone beyond a simple trimming function.
Pros
- Very good video quality
- Very good battery life
- Solid build quality
Cons
- No ND filters
- No 3.5mm headphone jack
- No 4K120 video editing
techradar[2]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony Xperia Pro-I is a capable camera phone for photography. All three cameras are available for video capture across all three apps. We found 5G connectivity to work well, with the strength and reliability of the signal being comparable with other handsets of this type. The Pro runs Android 11, which isn’t the newest version of Google’s OS.
Pros
- Top-tier camera performance
- Excellent battery life
- Fast charging
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No IP rating
