Product Overview

Bang & Olufsen Beosound Level is an exceptionally stylish take on all-in-one wireless speaker. Available with two grille constructions (wood or fabric), the Beosound Level is about the visual expression as much as it is about the sound that it is able to reproduce.
About the sound, B&O promises power and clarity from the speaker's 3-way setup. Like other smart speakers that have come onto the market in the last few years, the Beosound Level comes with active, adaptive adjustment features that mitigate the unconventional shape of the speaker and that compensate for imperfect sonic qualities of the listening environment.
As to be expected, two Beosound Levels can be paired to form a stereo setup wirelessly.
What makes Bang & Olufsen products stand out, as it is again the case here, is their design. The Beosound Level has a sleek design that can be placed on its side, on its back, or hung on the wall. In any of the position, one can hardly tell that the Beosound Level is a speaker. It grabs attention and inspires curiosity: some form of a conversation starter.
The speaker has not only Bluetooth 5.0 but also WiFi 5 support for high-bandwidth audio streaming from popular platforms. It has a good 16-hour battery life and supports a range of physical inputs, too.
Other portable models in B&O's Beosound sub-brand include the Beosound A1 GEN2, Explore, and 1.

Reviewers from t3 have found:
For a thin speaker, the Beosound Level doesn't struggle for depth. There's great representation across the whole range, from treble that has no problem lifting clearly out of the mix, to a warm mid-range with plenty of definition. It's not as good as the Naim Mu-so 2nd Gen I mentioned earlier. That's much bigger, and speaker companies can simply do more with more volume.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Great cross platform streaming support
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Not as good as the Naim Mu-so 2nd Gen

B&O's companion app for the Beosound Level invites the user to choose between several EQ Listening Mode settings. An onboard gyroscope tracks the shifted position and triggers modifications in the DSP. The bass was boldest when the Level was reclining on my dining room sideboard.
Pros
  • Sleek, portable design
  • Easy-to-use remote
  • Customizable room EQ
Cons
  • Can’t switch between Wi-Fi and AC power
  • Touch controls can be sensitive
