Product Overview

Bose SoundLink Flex is a rugged portable wireless speaker with a go-anywhere design. Being IP67 water and dust resistant, the SoundLink Flex features a powder-coated steel grille and silicone exterior that is both stylish and durable.
At the same time, Bose promises that the SoundLink Flex is able to deliver clear and undistorted sound, though one should be realistic about what a small, closed speaker is able to do.
A trick that the SoundLink Flex has up its sleeve is the PositionIQ technology, which allows it to sense the orientation in which it is placed. It is then able to make digital adjustments to make the sound better.
The SoundLink Flex has a quite useful battery life of 12 hours. It comes with a hoop that allows it to be easily hung. Owners of other Bose wireless speakers or soundbars can pair the SoundLink Flex with them as a sound repeater.

External Reviews

pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Bose SoundLink Flex boasts a rich, bass-forward sound signature. At top volumes, the bass flirts with distortion, but digital signature processing keeps things in check. The speaker delivers vocals cleanly and clearly, with perhaps the slightest bit of added sibilance at times.
Pros
  • Powerful, bass-forward sound signature
  • Powerful speakerphone mic
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No user-adjustable EQ
  • No wireless charging

t3[2]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The SoundLink Flex is a reasonably compact 20x9x5cm and weighs a very manageable 600g. It has an extremely sturdy fabric strap at one end of its chassis, too, which means it can happily hang off a hook or a bag. The materials used – mostly soft-touch silicone with powder-coated steel face-plate and grille – mean the Flex has an IP67 rating against dust and moisture ingress.
Pros
  • Well-built design
  • Excellent battery life
  • Good sound quality
Cons
  • No EQ adjustment
