Gigabyte U4 is an ultra-portable 14-inch laptop designed for business users. The first such laptop by the established gaming laptop manufacturer, the U4 follows the success of the AERO series designed for content creators and is an overall conservative release:
On the one hand, the Gigabyte U4 has hit all crucial points that an essential business laptop requires: there is a fast 11th-gen Intel Tiger Lake low-powered i7 powering the device, both Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-A ports are available, two M.2 slots both support PCIe 4 high-speed SSDs, and the laptop has passed MIL-STD-810G rests for durability.
On the other hand, there is no HDMI port built-in, nor is there any mobile broadband option. While the device itself is efficient, its small battery means that battery life is not the best.
On balance, the Gigabyte U4 makes for a good, though not great, business laptop that may attract SMEs who are satisfied with the feature set on offer and hope to find more competitive pricing.
