Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3
SmartphoneProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is the second iteration of the company's compact foldable smartphone, though its model number is bumped to "3" to be inline with the Z Fold3. While sharing similar designs to its predecessor from 2020, the Z Flip3 features a larger cover display.
At the same time, the Z Flip3 is marginally smaller than its predecessor. The main display also supports 120Hz refresh rate.
Another interesting update is the introduction of a wide selection of colors, including exclusive colors available directly from Samsung's own web store.
Compared to the Z Fold3, however, Samsung is miserly in terms of power with the Flip3: Its memory and storage are smaller, only a single Nano SIM slot is offered, and its wireless connectivity is limited to WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Cons

gizmodo[2]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is one of the first of Samsung's devices to feature a 5nm Snapdragon 888 on the inside. The inside camera lens is 10-megapixels with an f/2.4 aperture capability. Samsung has committed itself to three years of major software updates, about on par with what Google offers.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Foldable screen
- Long battery life
Cons
- No front-facing camera
- No wireless charging
gsmarena[3]
Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy Z Flip3 is being marketed as a fashion statement, and while the looks and relative novelty of the form factor remain its main selling points, it's not entirely devoid of practicality. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is arguably twice the phone that the Flip is, though, even if an entirely different beast. The iPhone 12 mini is also substantially cheaper than the Flip3 - when was the last time an iPhone had 'price' in the Pros list?
Pros
- Foldable design
- Good battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- Pricey for a foldable phone
- No IP rating
laptopmag[4]
Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy Z Flip 3 runs Android 11 with Samsung's One UI 3.1. While I prefer the more stock Android experience of the Pixel line, One UI is easy to adjust to. The front-facing hole-punch camera is a 10MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
Pros
- Foldable form factor
- Excellent battery life
- Flex mode
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No 120Hz display
notebookcheck[5]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is equipped with a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED panel. With an average maximum brightness of 820 cd/m², the folding smartphone is able to lead our test field. The display can also be customized using the "Vivid" and "Natural" color profiles. Samsung equips the phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G.
Pros
- Foldable AMOLED display
- Good battery life
- Fast charging
Cons
- No microSD card slot
- No fingerprint reader
pcmag[6]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy Z Flip3 has the fewest cameras, and the simplest camera setup, of Samsung's current flagships. It charges at 25W wired or 10W wireless, with 4.5W reverse wireless charging for watches and earbuds. The front-facing camera is very good, especially in low light.
Pros
- Beautiful design
- Good front-facing camera
- Good battery life
Cons
- No Wi-Fi 6E
- Battery life could be better
techradar[7]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has the same 6.7-inch FHD+ screen as its predecessor. The outer display has been increased to 1.9 inches, making it easier to see. The camera setup doesn't compare to what you'll find on other recent Samsung flagships like the S21, so don't buy this phone expecting to take fantastic photos. The phone has a 3,300mAh battery, which is on the light side for a phone with a 6. 7-inch display.
Pros
- Foldable form factor
- Great battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No fingerprint scanner
theverge[8]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)Samsung has systematically checked off the boxes that made earlier Flip models purely curiosities. The Flip 3 is not as good in low light as an iPhone 12 Pro Max or Pixel 5, nor does it have the versatility of the Samsung S21 Ultra's long telephoto lens. Samsung is still using its stock apps as places to jam unwanted ads, which is gross and annoying.
Pros
- Flexible design
- Good battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- No headphone jack
- No wireless charging
tomsguide[9]
Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)With a 3,300 mAh battery, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 retains the size of the original Flip’s battery capacity. In its adaptive mode, the Flip 3 lasted for just 5 hours and 43 minutes. In 60Hz mode, it lasted for a slightly better 6 hours. As with the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung won't be including a charger in the box.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Flex mode
- Good performance
Cons
- Poor battery life
- No telephoto lens
