ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TM420
2-in-1Product Gallery
Product Overview
The 2021 ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 5000-series mobile processors up to Ryzen 7 5700U. Unlike clamshell VivoBook models, it enjoys a full-metal chassis, though it further sacrifices performance in achieving this.
As such, the VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 has an uninspiring FHD IPS touch display with 45% coverage of the NTSC color space. It also has only one PCI express 3.0 x2 slot for SSD, which is already occupied from factory.
On the plus side, this 2-in-1 is relatively thin at just over 18mm. It also has WiFi 6 connectivity and 82% screen-to-body ratio. Last but not least, while its size leaves no space for a numeric keypad, ASUS has given the VivoBook Flip 14 TM420 its NumberPad 2.0 version numeric keypad in the touchpad.
Alongside the TM420, ASUS also markets essentially the same laptop powered by Intel.

Reviewer score 51% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Asus VivoBook Flip 14 is a premium-looking offering from Asus. The battery life and quick top-up certainly earn this laptop a few brownie points. In terms of value, it gets it all right on paper. However, a few key issues keep it from being the home run hit that it can be.
Pros
- Good build quality
- Good battery life
- Decent performance
Cons
- Dim display
- Dim display

Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)While it may look like a Spectre keyboard, it doesn't quite feel like one. There's plenty of travel and a nice click to the switches, but the bottoming action is too abrupt. The touchpad is a Microsoft Precision version, so it works well with good support for Windows 10 multitouch gestures, but it's just tiny.
Pros
- Solid performance
- Color-accurate OLED display
- Good battery life
Cons
- Small touchpad
- Dim display
