HP OMEN 16t-b000 is a sleek 16.1-inch gaming laptop in HP's 2021 lineup. It is powered by 11th-gen Intel Tiger Lake H-series mid-powered mobile processors and can be configured with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics.
The somewhat rare 16.1-inch 16:9 panel comes with a tradeoff: On the one hand, the new OMEN 16 offers a larger viewing area than a similarly-spec'd OMEN 15 in the same generation. On the other hand, the rarity of its size means HP is only able to offer a single display option, which may or may not be what works for you.
Another compromise is that HP has chosen to rob the OMEN 16t-b000 its Thunderbolt port, leaving a simple USB-C connection, which offers just 1/4 of the theoretical bandwidth of the former.
Compared to last year's OMEN laptops, the new 16t-b000 does have a WiFi 6E + Bluetooth 5.2 combo option.
Overall, the OMEN 16t-b000 is a beautifully-built, somewhat portable laptop that light gamers can enjoy at an affordable price point.
Three other OMEN gaming laptops for 2021 are the 17t-ck000, 15t-ek100, and 15z-en100. It must be noted that HP also sells many pre-configured models with slightly different model numbers, which is unnecessarily confusing but perhaps intentionally so.

Reviewer score 60%The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad and the high latencies that can be observed just after opening the browser.
