Product Overview

Onkyo TX-SR393 is an entry-level 5.2-channel AV receiver. It comes with a basic set of I/O options and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound.

Unlike higher-end models, the TX-SR393 is not a network receiver, though it still supports Bluetooth connectivity and is able to stream music from smart devices.

In terms of physical connections, the TX-SR393 is somewhat limited. It lacks phono preamp, which makes it unsuitable for any setup with turntables / vinyl. Three of its speaker terminals are also of the snap type, which reflects the receiver's budget positioning. Nevertheless, it does have two digital inputs.

The TX-SR393 is also available with DAB+ tuner as TX-SR393DAB. It is the successor to the TX-SR373 from 2017, which by now is quite outdated and lacks features.

A few other receivers by Onkyo from 2019 include the TX-SR494, TX-RZ740, TX-RZ840, TX-NR696, and TX-RZ3400.
